ADJ Mystic Sound Activated Effects Fixture Disco American DJ

I tested this light and it lit up and spun around, but i'm not sure if it's in long term working order. It was making some strange sounds and also started to almost have a burning smell to be honest.
I am unfamiliar with this unit and honestly don't even know if i'm using it right.
One of the plastic places is broke and missing a glass piece but other than that it seems to be in good shape cosmetically.
